Amanda & Luke - 21/10/17

You might remember Amanda & Luke from their fun (if rather muddy) engagement session earlier this month. We had a great time and I knew that I was going to enjoy their wedding.

The forecast for the wedding day was a bit worrying, Storm Brian was due to hit overnight Friday and the entire area had a weather warning for wind. It was certainly gusty as I arrived at Amanda's parents' house but the sun was shining and there was lovely light as I took photos of Amanda getting ready.

Amanda's family were very excited but she was amazingly calm!

Before we knew it, it was time to leave for the Church (Long Crendon Baptist Church). Amanda looked completely beautiful in her wedding dress and was ready to travel in her amazing vintage Rolls Royce.

At the Church, the bridesmaids were waiting patiently in the entrance and Luke was inside with his groomsmen.

They didn't have long to wait before Amanda arrived with her Dad, Charles.

We took a quick photo on the Church steps before Amanda made her big entrance.

Charles was beaming with pride as he walked his daughter down the aisle.

Luke looked so happy to see his beautiful bride and I couldn't help but notice how proud their pastor, Paddy, looked too. He's known Amanda for years and was obviously thrilled to share her special day.

The ceremony was wonderful and full of laughter.

We used the balcony to get a shot of everyone together in the Church before heading outside.

The weather was challenging at this point, rain showers kept passing by and there were some very strong gusts of wind but we managed to get a shot of the couple on the steps before attempting some confetti shots (the wind blew most of the confetti away before it fell!)

The party then moved to the gorgeous Manor Farm Barn, our plans to take some photos in the garden were spoiled by the heavy rain showers and strong winds so we stayed inside the lovely warm barn instead.

 Amanda and Luke had added lots of personal details to the barn and it looked wonderful!

The cake (by Cakes by Kit) and flowers (by The Flower Shed, Oxford) were stunning and made real centrepieces for the event.

The guests were very well cared for by the staff and soon it was time for the speeches. They were very funny and there were lots of reactions to capture, especially when the Best Man was sharing stories about Luke!

 


Then came the cake-cutting before the band arrived and the dancing started!

Thank you so much to Amanda, Luke, their family and friends for a wonderful wedding. It was a truly uplifting day and it an absolute pleasure to be a part of it.

SSNAP Ball 2017

SSNAP (Support for the Sick Newborn and Parent) is a hugely important charity to our family. Our youngest son spent the first 2 months of his life in the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and while we were there we experienced the hard work of SSNAP and the difference it makes to those who have sick babies in the NICU and SCBU.

Lara and Andrea have organised several events to fundraise for SSNAP and, when they approached me about providing photography for this year's charity ball, I was more than happy to participate.

The theme for the ball was 'The Great Gatsby' and everyone seemed to really relish dressing up in style.

The guests enjoyed a 3-course meal before dancing the night away to music from Solly's Discos

In all, the evening raised over £2600 for SSNAP which is a wonderful achievement by all. I'm sure this money will be well used to help sick babies and their families.

Amanda & Luke 1/10/17

I've known Amanda's family for years but hadn't seen Amanda since she was a young child so it was lovely to catch up with her (and meet her fiance, Luke) during our pre-wedding session at Coombe Hil.

It had rained quite a bit during the week before so it was muddy in places, we definitely needed our wellies. I think they add a fun element to the photos!

We had a great time wandering through the woodland and enjoying the views from the monument.

What really struck me about this gorgeous couple is their sense of fun, I think we're going to have a good time at their wedding later this month!
